Adriel Jovian Rivera, where to begin? I saw my first Broadway show when I was three years old. My mom took me to see Tarzan in the Richard Rodgers Theatre. From that moment on I knew what I wanted to do with my life, be on that stage acting and entertaining people. Ever since then my mom has been putting me in any type of thing that involved performing. But the big "Life Changing Moment" came in 2010. Lin-Manuel Miranda brought his Tony-winning Best Musical, In the Heights, to Puerto Rico. Mom and Grandma brought me to see it, opening night. That musical changed me. I saw myself on stage in the character of Usnavi and that's what really made me take acting serious as a career. Knowing that I could be my complete self on the stage and still be able to entertain and affect people in positive ways, blew my mind. I can literally just be my truest self for two and a half hours, while singing and dancing, while making people feel something and even maybe make some money while doing it, wow, I mean that's amazing! Ever since then I've just been working as hard as I can in order to be able to do what I love at my highest possible level and in order to reach as much people as possible, especially in the latino community. The biggest goal is to be able to uplift the country of Puerto Rico through the arts, opening theaters, drama schools, doing more theatrical productions of anything and everything in order to reach every possible person and community I can through the arts and really make a positive impact on the community.
